TGIF || Celebrating my favorite season with a Pumpkin Pie Moscow Mule

Hey everyone!

Happy Fall! I'm so excited that Fall is officially here! Although I've been celebrating it's arrival since the end July, it's now time to get serious and stick to my all-pumpkin-errthang diet until 11:59 pm on Thanksgiving evening. Who's ready to celebrate the season with me?

Tonight I'm going to share a recipe that you will absolutely FALL in love with! If you asked me what my favorite cocktail is, I'd probably say a Moscow Mule. So I created Moscow Mule with a homemade pumpkin pie syrup to celebrate the season and I have to say it turned out better than I could've ever imagined.

Pumpkin Pie Moscow Mule:

(Makes 2 Drinks)

3 oz. Tito's Vodka

4 oz. Homemade Pumpkin Pie Syrup (recipe below)

2 (6.8) Bottles of Fever Tree Ginger Beer (my preference)

Ground Cinnamon (for garnish)

Fresh Cinnamon Sticks (for garnish)

Place ice in copper mugs. Pour 1.5 ounces of Tito's Vodka into each mug. Add 2 ounces of homemade Pumpkin Pie Syrup to each mug. Top each cocktail with 1 bottle of Fever Tree Ginger Beer or 6-7 ounces of your preference. Stir really well. Add more ice if needed. Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top and fresh cinnamon stick for garnish. Add a straw and cheers to the season!

Homemade Pumpkin Pie Syrup:

Makes enough for two drinks and much more!

(I placed my extra in an air sealed container and refrigerated for later use)

1/2 cup Pumpkin Purée

1/2 C. Brown Sugar

1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon

1/4 Tsp. Ground Ginger

1/4 Tsp. Ground Cloves

1/4 Tsp. Ground Nutmeg

1 Tsp. Vanilla extract

1 Tsp. Pumpkin Pie extract

1.5 C. Water

Add water into small pot, place on range or stovetop at low to medium heat. Add all dry ingredients and stir until mixed well. Last add puréed pumpkin, vanilla and pumpkin pie extract. Stir thoroughly for 5-10 minutes. This should have a medium thickness yet smooth texture. Remove from heat and pour into a container to cool. When syrup is cool you will then be able to add it to your cocktail. Store the rest of mixture in air sealed glass or container and refrigerator for later use.

Cheers and enjoy!
