Motivation Monday || My go-to Açaí Bowl

Happy Monday everyone! 

 

I don’t know about you, but Monday is the day when I get back to my workout, start a new weekly goal (health wise) and get back on schedule from the weekend.  Today I wanted to share with you my go-to Açaí bowl that I make pretty much every day. It’s so delicious and keeps me motivated to stay on track throughout the week. A lot of times when I’m craving something sweet I turn to an Açaí bowl, it extinguishes the craving and leaves me satisfied! The best thing about a smoothie bowl is you can put anything on them! I love adding fresh fruit, granola (or muesli), chia seeds and sprinkle shredded coconut on top! Believe me, it’s delicious and doesn’t take long to make! 

 

Some fun food facts: 

 

Açaí is a berry that is packed with antioxidants. Contains lots of calcium, fiber and Vitamin A. Açaí can help reduce inflammation, arthritis and many allergies. Açaí is also proven to have positive effects on stress, heart disease and cancer! This also helps prevent aging, wrinkles and can keep your skin clear! 

 

Chia seeds help prevent pre-mature skin aging from all the antioxidants. They are fully packed with omegas (about three times the amount you can find in fish). They are also known to help prevent diabetes and heart disease. Chia seeds are also proven to boost your metabolism and overall energy. Consuming chia seeds on a regular basis is great for your oral health by reducing plaque and tartar. 

 

Recipe: 

1 package of frozen Sambazon Açaí Berry 

1/2 cup of frozen berries ( I used an organic blend of Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries) 

1 frozen banana (I also keep a stash of frozen bananas in my freezer at all times - make sure you peel them prior to putting them into the freezer) 

1 splash of unsweetened Vanilla almond milk 

Handful of fresh blueberries 

Handful of fresh strawberries 

Sliced banana

1/4 cup of Muesli (packed with proteins and whole grains) 

1 Tbsp Agave Necter (optional for sweetness)

1 Tbsp of Black Chia seeds 

1 Tsp Shredded Coconut 

1 Tbsp of PB2 Peanut butter (drizzle over bowl) 

 

Directions: 

Lightly thaw açaí packet under cool running water in sink. Add frozen berries, açaí packet, frozen banana, agave nector and a splash of almond milk to a blender. Blend until consistency is thick and smooth. Place in bowl and garnish with fresh sliced fruit, muesli, chia seeds and shredded coconut. Drizzle PB2 peanut butter on top.
