Cinco de Mayo || Strawberry Jalapeño Margaritas

Hey everyone, happy Saturday!

I couldn’t be happier that Cinco De Mayo weekend is here! In honor of today I made Strawberry Jalapeño margaritas! I was recently back home in Pennsylvania visiting my dad and we always go to my favorite Mexican restaurant (Mesa modern Mexican grill). They make the most delicious margaritas that I’ve ever tasted! My favorite just so happens to be Strawberry Jalapeño. A few visits ago, one of the bartenders graciously taught me how to make them. Now, without further ado, let’s get on with the show!

Recipe:
1.5 oz Tequila (I used Espolon)
1.5 oz Orange Liqueur ( I used Patron)
1 Tbsp Blue Agave Necter
4 Fresh Strawberries
Juice from 2 limes
Sliced Jalapeños
Course Sea Salt or Raw Sugar for Rim (I use raw sugar)
Ice

Directions:
(Makes 1 Margarita)
Muddle fresh strawberries in bottle of metal shaker. Place Ice over muddled strawberries. Pour 1.5 oz Tequila and 1.5 oz of Orange Liqueur over the ice. Next add 1 Tbsp of Blue Agave Necter. Add 2-3 slices( depending on size) of fresh jalapeños. Shake thoroughly until shaker is completely chilled over. Use sliced lime to wet the rim of your margarita glass ( I used the handled Ball Jars because I think they look so cute).
Dip the rim of the glass in sea salt/ raw sugar. Place ice in the jar and pour over the mixture. Garnish drink with 2 jalapeño slices and a strawberry on the rim. Add a festive straw and you have the best Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita you’ll ever taste!
