A Classic Cinco de Mayo Margarita

May 5, 2019

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!

This is a holiday that Matt and I never forget to go all-out for! Last year we celebrated with friends and I brought along my Strawberry-Jalapeño margarita recipe (recipe here). This year we are keeping it pretty low key and hanging out at home because I worked all weekend. I made some margaritas and guac and Matt put of such a huge spread for our Cinco de Mayo dinner.

Tonight,  I’m sharing a classic homemade lime margarita sweatened with Blue Agave Nectar! I made this tonight for our home celebration! If you want to spice things up (like my hubby) just add a few slices of jalapeños to your shaker and garnish with a few slices as well! This recipe tasted amazing with Matt's pulled pork carnitas!

Classic Margarita Recipe

1.5 ounces of Espolòn Tequila Blanco

1.5 ounces of Orange Liqueur (I used Patròn)

3 ounces of fresh squeezed lime juice

Sweetened with 1 Tbsp of Organic Blue Agave Nectar

Ice

Coarse Sea Salt

Limes

Optional

Sliced Jalapeños

*add a few slices for a kick

Directions:

In a metal shaker add ice and pour all ingredients over the ice. If you chose to add a little kick now is the time to add your jalapeño slices. Rim glass with lime wedge and dip in coarse sea salt. Add ice to glass and pour the contents of the shaker into the glass. Garnish with lime a maybe some jalapeño slices and enjoy!

Thank you for stopping by and remember to drink responsibly.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

P.S. Stop back tomorrow for A Mother’s Day feature!

XOXO,
